litter pickOn Saturday 14th November at 10am, a hardy group of villagers gathered on the village green.  Despite bad weather and the absence through illness of our usual co-ordinator, we decided to continue with the litter pick.

The hard work of the volunteers made up for the smaller than usual turn-out, and as ever, we were all shocked by how much rubbish there was thrown onto our roads' verges and ditches since our last clear-up in the Spring.  Simon Ames reported 52 cans of strong lager in one spot in Dean Oak Lane alone!

Thank you to everyone who came out, and to Sarah at the Plough for much needed warming refreshments afterwards.

Next March there is a national 'Clean for The Queen' weekend on March 4th, 5th and 6th  ahead of her 90th Birthday so a good time to have a real power-through the village!  Who is up for that?
